I am in my first semester in LSU's MLIS program, concentrating in archives. I have always appreciated the importance of archives (ex: when going through an old box of college papers I found notes from my college's first queer activist organization and immediately called the college archives to send them along). For the past few years I have "curated" a completely thrown-together made-up as I fumbled along digital "archive" of queer performance art. It started as something I was just doing for fun, collecting pictures, videos, articles and other items-- but it sparked a new passion in me and, after 8 years as a public interest attorney, I decided to change careers and enrolled in school to learn the real nuts-and-bolts of digital archives.
