I have a background in International Relations and Library Science. Prior to working at LSUHSC Library, I worked for the Brooklyn Public Library and was the Director of Palau Community College (tiny island in the Pacific).

I generally follow tech trends peripherally, but lately I've been more excited by the practical applications of technology in my work, while trying to stay aware of their potential drawbacks.

I had to Google Nicholas Carr, but I've been reading Douglas Rushkoff's "Present Shock," along with two other books simultaneously...probably because the Internet is frying my brain.
